Just announced at Inti Creates' and Inafune's panel at Anime Expo, Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 will be releasing in the US on September 30. What's more, on the same day, The Azure Striker Gunvolt Striker Pack will also be heading to our shores! The Striker Pack will be receiving a $29.99 retail release. As was previously rumored, it will be published by Yacht Club Games. Gunvolt 2 alone will be $14.99 on the 3DS eShop.

UPDATE: 1st official English trailer for the Striker Pack uploaded by Inti. Interesting to note in this trailer is the fact that it highlights dialogue from the Japanese Voiceover Mode in GV1's Steam version. This would appear to mean that GV1 will contain all the cut 3DS dialogue in the Striker Pack.

Inti Creates also announced that a Gunvolt OVA will be coming out this Winter. Details about this anime are slim at the moment, but I'll leave you with this amazing official trailer that Inti Creates showed off at their panel! Enjoy!

How about that? Gotta say, my brain is scattered all over the place right now! This is one seriously glorious day to be a Gunvolt fan!

  1. Must get Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack! Although I wonder if Gunvolt 1 will finally have the restored dialogue cut from the initial 3DS release.

    1. Y'know honestly I'm assuming they'll be using the Steam Re-translation since they got greater flack for cutting everything in the first place, and the re-translation is just better over all. Plus they've been trying to get a patch on the eShop for it...

That and it would be jarring from 2, IMO. d('v'

  2. I noticed Lola has a more robotic voice in the trailer, interesting.
Also is the dialogue update coming to the eshop version still or not? If not, I'm still getting the Striker Pack.

    1. Also, the Sumeragi 7 were referred as "The Glaives" for whatever reason lol

    2. Do you mean more robotic that her voice in the Japanese trailer? I think they're about the same.
Still hard to say what's up with the 3DS update at the moment. As far as I'm aware, Inti didn't mention anything about it at their panel--which is interesting in light of the fact that the Striker Pack version of GV1 seems to include the cut dialogue.

    3. Yeah it's the same, it's just a lot more clearer in this trailer than the JP one for whatever reason haha

I know they've told me they were working on it, maybe it's also same day as release, who knows tho. No one probably asked x-x

    4. Her voice is the same, what i think i mean is that there seems to be a robotic echo? I don't know how to describe it.

    5. Oh, yeah. That robo filter has been there since the beginning. When it's softer it's harder to hear the echo.

    1. Also, at least there are more official names for attacks like, "bullet rush", and, "X-copy system".

  4. I hope that the OVA is based on the final 5 rescue Joule missions.
    Those would have awesome action.
The only problem is that it would be really hard for newcomers to understand.
If not then either a prequel to the first game or an OVA set just after the first game would be my next choices as they would be more accessible and still awesome.
Out of the two I would probably prefer a prequel.
    How about everyone else?

    1. Well, I can't see a prequel seeing as they already released the concept bases for Cyan and Morpho. Unless there some weird flackbacks to sumeragi, I doubt it.

I personally hope that it will be the cyan convos mixed with odd jobs GV does. Which also includes fighting the Sumeragi Bosses so. I feel like this has a higher chance witb people clamouring for an anime, they would base it off the game itself. I would love to see some of the convos animated a few silly (nyan) and the i think is important ones (aura around babel)... maybe even some just mentioned like Gino hang out.

Plus there's the fact they never said episodes or length. I've seen 3ep (possible slightly more but i cant remember atm) and movieish length OVAs so who knows how much time we're talking.

    2. Yeah you're right.
I just ignored the concept art because it looks just like the original ones we've seen before.
I hope they have an English dub planned because Johnny Yongbosh as Gunvolt and Crispin Freeman as Asimov would be amazing!

  5. Soooooooo.... No EU release date? Crap. Speaking of "Crap", I actually saw Copen say that in the trailer. No more weird censors!

  6. Honestly, I'm so tired of the first games' localization drama that I almost don't give a damn anymore about the cut dialogue. Still wish they'd actually given it to us via update, but time will tell.

Anyways, I spy a T rating; the first one was T at launch, but downgraded to E10+. Probably a mixture of the second one and the ESRB seeing Zonda's dialogue in the first one.
