Meet "Asrock," The Puppeteer Boss

Earlier today, a special live stream was hosted on Nico Live that exhibited several upcoming game titles in Japan. During this show, new Gunvolt 2 footage was shown off by Keiji Inafune of Comcept and Yoshihisa Tsuda of Inti Creates. This footage featured the stage of Asrock, the puppeteer boss, a character that we'd formerly known very little about. You can watch it for yourselves below courtesy of Kira A, who uploaded the gameplay to Youtube.

The entire stream was, of course, in Japanese, but Zoram was kind enough to provide me with details on what went down during the broadcast. He plans to also subtitle the video later on, but in the meantime, you can read his general analysis of the stream below:

The new stage is titled "Puppets" and is set in a waste disposal plant. A thrown-away mecha get reanimated by a Sevens in the form of a puppet's strings and Acura has to make his way through the plant.
Surprsingly, the stage only has one half and he [Tsuda] soon reaches the boss, the puppeteer Asrock.
Asrock calls Acura "old human" and claims Psychics are the "new humans". He transforms and brings out his pet robot "Galetekrone". Acura recognizes it and guesses Asrock was the enemy that attacked Michiru, his sister.
Asrock evades the topic altogether and begins to talk like a candy maker (he says to Acura, "You're baked candy awaiting completion within Galetkrone's boiler"), yet he never loses his composure and speaks in a dull tone like he doesn't care at all about anything.
At one moment RoRo suggests their personalities are mixing up, something that Acura denies.
Tsuda dies on purpose to try to showcase the Song of Diva and is lucky enough to get it to work. He beats Asrock, but unlike Teseo, he doesn't "explode" and is shown to be alive: he says that he took Acura too lightly, but Tsuda ends the gameplay there to avoid showing anything else.

By the way, here's the Limited Edition of the Azure Striker Gunvolt Striker Pack, shown by Inafune (thanks to Zoram for the screencap!).

  1. Yeah, he's my favorite already. Looks like we've got a pot-relevant boss character here.

  3. The final two bosses have finally been revealed. And let's just say, after seeing Jibril, I think I know why the game has a teen rating....

    1. The first one deserved it as well, what with Zonda.
Speaking of which, on a scale of 1-Zonda, how bad is this "Jibril"?

    2. Let's just say that it is possible that Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 is secretly a horror game.
