Check Out Video Footage From The Gunvolt 2 Demo! *UPDATED*

Ready for something really exciting, folks? Earlier last week, I talked about a new Gunvolt 2 demo that Inti showcased at one of their public events in Japan. This demo showed off some really cool stuff about the game that we'd not known about before. As you may recall, though, at the time, I could only supply a list of the new details that were revealed. I couldn't provide any actual video footage because I had no means of retrieving any.

That's now changed, however! In a surprising turn of events, the GV2 demo footage that Inti showcased at their event has been converted into video! What's more, good ol' Zoram sent me a translation document for all character dialogue in the demo! Wasn't that nice of him?

You can catch the video footage on NicoNico right here. Word of note, though: you need a NicoNico account to watch videos on the site. Not that that's a huge deal--you can sign in easily via any Twitter, Facebook, Google, Nintendo Network or even Line account.

UPDATE: Gameplay footage now on Youtube:

And, of course, you can find the character dialogue translations below. Yeah, I know, not as convenient as subtitles on the actual video, but the dialogue is pretty easy to follow nonetheless. Hope you folks enjoy it! It's super cool stuff!

Title:

Heaven Tower

"Tangled"

1st half:

Acura:
I can see the Orbital Elevator further ahead…
Who’d say I’d end up coming again…?

Soldier:
You villain approaching Nike, our Goddess! We won’t let you through!

Acura:

What’s that? A wire…? No, that’s not it…

Nowa:
I think that might be hair…
It’d seem that the 7th Wave (Sevens) of the Psychic in charge of this area is the power to control hair…

RoRo:
Controlling hair, huh… Doesn’t sound too impressive…

RoRo:

Whoa! There’s a lot of hair!

Nowa:

Maybe this is also part of the enemy’s 7th Wave (Sevens) powers…

RoRo

The power to control hair… Maybe it’s cool, even…

Nowa:

Those platforms seem to have less durability than the others.
If you remain atop them they’ll crumble from the weight, so be careful…

RoRo:

Acura–kun, you need a diet! A diet!

Acura:

Making the equipment lighter is faster… No, that’s not the problem…

Acura:

Walking over roads made of a Monster’s hair… isn’t a nice sensation.

RoRo:

Well then, why don’t you try to advance while locking into the hovering foes?
You might be able to climb up if you properly do it…

Acura:

The Orbital Elevator, huh…
I wasn’t expecting to have to come here again…

RoRo:

Huh? It’s your 2nd time coming here? I didn’t know that.

Acura:

That’s because you were with Michiru back then…

Nowa

These guys’ goal surely isn’t the Orbital Elevator, but the Orbital Base past it…
There are vital materials related to the Cybernetic Singing Fairy (Cyber Diva) there… or so I’ve heard.

Acura:

The Diva Project… A hideous scheme in which Monsters rule over Monsters…
Not like I’ll allow that to happen again…

Nowa:

There should be a connecting corridor leading to the Orbital Elevator just ahead…
Destroy the Gate Monolith and please head on ahead…

2nd half:

Soldier:

You lowlife! You walked over the Goddess’ hair!?
You trampled the Goddess’ advance, the hair that acts as bridges granted to us…
Atone with death for your wrongdoings!

Acura:

These weaklings are creepy…

Nowa

The ceiling further ahead has been destroyed and you can come out outside…

Acura:

The wind’s indeed strong…

Nowa:

The wind will carry you if you jump so be careful…

RoRo:

There’s a mecha I hadn’t seen before…

Nowa:

That type of mecha… If you get hit by its bullets, then you’ll be tied up…
If you get hit by the bullet, then try to somehow shake off the restrains…

RoRo:

Ride into the tailwind and use the Dash Jump!

RoRo:

Acura–kun, you said it’s your second time coming here but…
Hey, what did it feel like? Was outer space cool?

Acura:

Well, I dunno.

RoRo:

What’s with that cold reply?

Nowa:

Acura–sama doesn’t have good memories about outer space.
Not only was he defeated by a Psychic in the Orbital Base, but he got his weapon stolen as well.

Acura:

...

Nowa:

Acura–sama, you can intrude into the building from up there.
It’d seem the Orbital Elevator’s boarding gate is close by as well.

Acura:

At least…

  2. The footage gets really good 6:30 on. You can tell that the enemy placement was very deliberate so that the player could do all that.
Also, nice to see some enemy variety... though "purple UFO with a turret on the bottom" is completely recycled.

Also, "Spike Saw" is going to become "(something) Cutter" in the localization; I'm calling. It looks like some samurai-style multi-slash, and nothing like a saw.

    1. Just a little, maybe picky, correction. It's "STRIKE Saw" not "Spike Saw". And I think the "Saw" name is a Japanese pun with "sou" or "claw" which is the Japanese title of the game (Armed Blue Gunvolt 2: Claw).
