New Info on GV2's Story, Bosses and Stages Released

A couple days ago, several Japanese gaming news sites released a bunch of new information about Gunvolt 2. This info touches more upon the game's criminal organization, Eden, and in addition, introduces two new bosses and stages from the title. The bosses covered in this report are Teseo, dubbed the "Cyber King," and Gauri, called the "Prism Master." For the full breakdown, hit the jump below! As always, thanks to Zoram Selrof for the translation!

The 7 Psychics of Eden armed with the “Books (AKA “Fairy Tales”)”: the “Grimwald Seven”.
The “Grimwald Seven”, AKA G7. They're 7 psychics within Eden that have really unique 7th Waves (Sevens). There aren’t exact hierarchical relationships in Eden, but these psychics are often entrusted with command of the field. They are endeared by the members. We will introduce two of the G7 Psychics and the missions in which they’re battled in the game.

“What is the Multinational Psychics Union “Eden”?”
It’s a Multinational Psychics Union with gigantic power. It’s composed of 7th Wave (Sevens) psychics, who are inferior in number to normal humans who don’t have special abilities. They’ve overcome the framework of countries and gathered together. Most of the members are people who were oppressed by non-psychics in the past.
“The psychics are the new humanity that will build a new age: the old humanity that doesn’t have 7th Wave (Sevens) is an existence that must be wiped out”: that is what they advocate, and they seek to create a utopia for psychics only.

“What are the “Books (Fairy Tales)”?”
They’re a material that the G7 employ to transform. They are based on “Sword” data that Eden secretly stole from Sumeragi, and they were completed by infusing the power of the Cybernetic Singing Fairy (Cyber Diva). Since these were built to simply power up the psychics, unlike the Ability Factor Control Devices that were the “Swords," the G7 can use their abilities without transforming. Once they transform, their power overcomes that of Sumeragi’s Psychics.

Introduction of the “Grimwald Seven” (1)
◆“The Boundary Lines’ Cyber King (Serial Experiment)” Teseo
(VA: Ishihara Tomonori)
“[Sad News] We must inform you of the end of Gunvolt… lol”

He’s a psychic with the “World Hack” ability that allows him to turn matter into data and, inversely, make data entities manifest themselves in reality. He used to be an uploader on an overseas video upload site, but his favorite site’s business worsened and it shut down. As a result, he was attracted to Eden’s communication equipment and joined their activities. He always uses a lot of net slang, and when he talks, his behavior makes his opponents get irritated at him, even though he doesn't intend to annoy them.
 “EM Transfer”
Teseo’s 7th Wave materializes all kinds of weak foes, bombs, and the likes. Pay special attention to his “Curse Script”: it’ll drain GV’s health as time passes.

“Bug Death Laser”

An attack that irradiates enormous torrents of data around the area like lasers. One must pay attention to the platforms that Teseo builds.

 “Code Matrix”

Missile attacks are generated by a spinning wheel bit.

 “Grid Raid”
A special warp attack that exchanges GV and Teseo’s locations.

“Circuit Rain”

A data rain that pours from spinning wheel bits to attack.

“Impregnable Fortress"

A wavy skill in which Teseo creates multiple copies of his attacks (lasers,
bombs. etc.) and shoots them out. Is there some way to avoid this
impregnable attack before it begins? It deserves the title of “unsinkable
fortress,” indeed.
Mission: “Cybernetic (Cyber)”
(Boss: Teseo).
A Sumeragi-managed data facility has been turned into cyberspace due to a raid by Eden. The enemy is Teseo, the Psychic with the “World Hack” ability that can materialize data. GV won’t allow any more of Sumeragi’s data fall into Eden’s hands. GV plunges into the cybernetic maze along with Cyan.
Destination facility: “Data Facility”

Xiao: “It’d seem this corridor is linked to both left and right.”
These are enemies made by Teseo which imitate Morpho. If you get caught by them, GV’s health will deplete.

Platforms which change when you hit them with the Thunder Scales. There are 2 types: some appear and others disappear.
Introduction of the “Grimwald Seven” (2)
“Crystal-shoes Dance-school (Prism Master)” Gauri
(VA: Sawashiro Chiharu)
“I go on scoring my lyrics! And this GIMMICK: it glows like a prism!”

The “Prism” Psychic that can freely create crystals. He used to be a street dancer. He gets cocky, so he’s the mood maker within Eden. His words are overflowing with groove and he’s always scoring a rhythm. He can also glide as if he were skating over road surfaces coated in crystals. He currently is working day and night to see if his own 7th Wave can be combined with his original dance.
“Tornado Bomb”
A spin jump that generates a lot of crystal balls. The crystal balls can be destroyed by attacking them

“Prism Shoot”

An attack where a small prism is shot by a kick. The shot prism wraps around the player and stops his attacks by refracting his lasers.

“Prism Strike”

An attack that kicks a big prism forward.
"Prism Break”

An attack in which a very big prism is kicked and smashed. The smashed fragments are pretty hard to dodge.
Prism Prisma Prison”

Gauri’s Special Skill. It's an attack that drops prisms and traps the player within them. The prism pillars refract the light around them and bathe the prisoner in lasers, the paths of which are very hard to predict.
Mission: “Crystal (Prism)”

(Boss: Gauri)

A crystal rain suddenly appears as if out of nowhere and splits a highway at late night. This is the work of the “Prism” 7th Wave Psychic, Gauri. Gauri glides across the worn-down highway. Acura, riding in the side-car of the bike controlled by Nowa, gives chase.
Destination Facility: “Highway”
Nowa: “Do not worry, sir, I will smash them.”
Acura brings down the enemies as he rides in the bike that Nowa drives.
RoRo: “Whoa, it’s burning!”
The destroyed cars become obstacles that block Acura's path. If you activate the sprinklers, you can put out the flames.

The mysterious girl who's the key to this story.
"Mysterious Girl"
(VA: Natsuka Kaori)
“Understood. I entrust you to take care of what’s going on.”
A mysterious girl who appears in front of both Gunvolt and Acura. She looks young on the outside, but since she speaks in such an orderly manner, it's difficult to guess her actual age. She appears to be a 7th Wave (Sevens) psychic, but her ability is unknown. What could her goal be…?

And that's it for now! Needless to say, very interesting stuff. I'm sure I'm not the only who notices the uncanny resemblance between the mysterious girl mentioned above, and Zonda. You really have to wonder how things are gonna play out on that front!
Anyway, as always, I hope you enjoyed reading this post!

  1. I believe Teseo's Seventh is 'World Hack' and I thought they were grimoired seven from my personal pickings at translation XD

In anycase, i think Teseo is responsible for a lot of things right in the opening stage, like Cyan's current form and RoRo's form o:

I'm also pretty sure thats Zonda, there's no way its not too many things add up.

Gauri seems like a cool guys so i wonder what his reason for joining Eden is...

    1. "World Hack" does seem to make more sense given Teseo's cyber abilities. Is it also possible that that other translation is "Grim World"?

    2. I think it might be a pun on that but i definitely think it has something to do with Grimiore, since the FairyTale are grimiore (also i just realize that is also a pun refering to cyan's power being in those from sumeragi data? Inti please,,) so i figured it's probably an -ed ending considering these 7 only uave the books

    3. Ah, right, I just looked up the word "grimoire" (was previously unfamilliar with the term) and learned that it's essentially a book of magic spells. Yeah, that definitely does make way more sense! Thanks for pointing that out!
Also, yeah, I think there are some definite puns in here. lol

  2. You guys are right, shame on me... It's "world hack" indeed. I misread the name... Can you please fix it? Sorry.

  3. Eden seeks to create a utopia only for psychics? Sounds like Rockman X4 vibes. That mysterious girl has got to be Zonda somehow!

    1. Yeah, I would also say it's very similar to Mega Man Zero 2. Ha, Aizu wasn't kidding when he said that the transition in the story from GV1 to GV2 would be similar to Mega Man Zero 1 and 2! In the first Zero game, you were required to stop an extremist organization that opressed reploids for the good of the humans. Replace the reploids with the adepts and you essentially have the premise of GV1 (Sumeragi operates under a similar rule to that of Neo Arcadia). In Zero 2, you have to stop a reploid (Elpizo) that wants to build a utopia where no humans exist and only reploids reign, similar to what Eden is striving to do in GV2 (except, again, with adepts.
Also, yeah, I really think that girl is Zonda. lol

  4. Now i'm 100% sure that the incident with Elise and Merak was caused by Teseo's hack. It's the only logical conclusion. Also Eden adepts are stronger than Sumeragi adepts? That's intense, I'm hyped!

  5. Do the "Books" have their own names unique to their owners, like glaives?

    1. Hard to say at the moment, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility.

  6. Knew that the motorcycle revealed in concept art a couple days ago would appear somewhere in the game.
I was half right on Gauri's powers; dancing is semi-related to speed, at least.
Also, hoping the highway stage has music as awesome as those in ZX and ZXA.

  7. Looks like Eden wants to fulfill Asimov's dream.

    1. Oh man, wouldn't it be mind-blowing if Eden and Asimov turned out to actually be connected?

    2. It could be yet at the same time it seems to be a thing which several Psychics think. As a result of the oppression they've felt. They can't find their place in a world that fears them (well, no wonder) and thus they want to create their own world. Kinda like Elise, too.

    3. I remember there was someone on your "What Went Wrong with Asimov?" page who had a theory that Zonda survived/was brought back to life by Elise and tricked GV and Asimov into fighting. If this theory is true, then seeing that this character resembles Zonda, could it be possible that it is Zonda and Zonda was leader of Eden all along and that mindset is why Asimov sounded like he was saying all those Eden-esque things? Now that I think about it Zonda could also be Eden's enemy and be trying to trick GV into fighting Eden (making him think they corrupted Asimov?) so Zonda doesn't have to deal with them. In the big art thing for GV2 reality seems to be breaking around that girl's face so it could imply that she's Zonda and has been messing with GV's reality for a long time? Also if I remember correctly Zonda's death animation was different from the others so that's… worrisome. Also it said in the Copen story thing (I think that's where I saw this) that Zonda is as strong as GV and Nova so even if Copen ambushed him (apparently he did) I have a hard time believing that Zonda went down so easily. Also it said in the Dengeki Nintendo profile that Zonda could change gender at will so why not change age too? They did mention that the girl acts older than she looks…

    4. Really mind blowing.
      I didn't think of that.
It does say in Asimov's profile that when he escaped Sumeragi that he got help from a certain organization.
I figured that it was a early version of Quill but it is almost definitely seems to be Eden now.

    5. To anonymous (the other one)
      Dude that sounds amazing!
You blew what was left of my mind to the other side of the universe.

    6. I am so hyped right now!
I can't wait for it to come out.
I hope they give us some more info soon to hold me over.

    7. Understood. I entrust you to take care of what’s going on.

This line from under her picture seems to aid your theory.
      It sounds so awesome.
      I hope that it's true.

  8. The girl looks so much like Zonda.
    Most probable conclusion not Zonda.

  9. The day this article was put up, the JP twitter posted concept art showing Quinn and an unknown character that Google Translate seems to identify as "Araka".

Are those swords he has in the art? Either way, strange that we seem to have a non-Eden character that's in an unrevealed state.

    1. That's the incomplete concept for Xiao

      Delete
    2. Yes, indeed. I don't know where "Araka" comes from, the name tag in the concept art does say "Xiao." It's an early design which was then revamped. Lately the GV official twitter has been leaking several Ouka/Quinn concept art to show how her design has evolved insofar.

    3. What a shame because I think that he looks cooler in that concept art.

  10. I have a theory that this girl is definatley Zonda, because, well, look, the hair almost resembles Zonda. Plus her Septima is unknown, but if you look at the cover art, she seems to be smiling through a broken mirror, which might resemble Zonda's Semptima. But that's just a theory.

  11. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't "Ghauri" an Indian/Pakistani name?
