Dengeki Nintendo Character Profiles: Merak

And now we move on to the laziest--but not less productive--member of Sumeragi: Merak! As always, if you wish to compare the translation below to the original Japanese text from Dengeki Nintendo, see here:

Without further ado, here's Merak's profile!

Merak's Profile

He was sneered at by others for his excellent intelligence and 7th Wave (Sevens). He was personally scouted by Shiden by the time he was a truant, and joined Sumeragi.

His supreme goal is to not work, yet he actually has some diligence that he makes use of along with his quick mind. He has drastic determinations, and since he, out of other Psychics with complicated personalities, has a rational correspondence, he obtained Shiden’s attention.
Susbspace Hole (Wormhole):

Merak’s 7th Wave (Sevens).

An ability that triggers distortions in space and links separated places together.

It originally was an ability that Merak used to transfer himself to other places, but since the destination of the transfer is only limited to places where he has been, he can’t use it to transfer to unknown locations, and can’t go to places where there might be some danger once he's there (inside of a wall, for example).

The space distortions can be placed like traps, but if they are, the transfer accuracy becomes lower.

It’s also possible for him to distort the space he links to, but this technique is hard to control and not all-powerful.
Armed Seat:

A Sumeragi-developed battling machine shaped like a seat. It's very comfortable. This unit is capable of floating for several months without an energy supply.

This is due to Sumeragi’s exclusive hover tech, but like the Swords, there are a lot of unclear points about its mechanism.

Merak’s 7th Wave (Sevens) Guidance Factors are combined into it and he only needs to think to make it move like his hands and feet. It has a safety feature that makes it unusable when he’s not in his transformed state.

The weapons are “Seat Punch”, “Seat Missile” and “Seat Laser (Lazy Laser)”. Since this machine was built for Merak, he, as the user, was allowed to name each weapon, but it’d seem he named them in a very random manner. (Skybane note: Boy, ain't that the truth!)
“Unmoving country-line”:

The Sword entrusted to Merak. It’s processed from the blade that the famed 6th Evil Spirit King Oda Nobunaga was said to own.

And that's it for Merak! Thanks to Zoram Selrof for the translation!
