Dengeki Nintendo Character Profiles: Daytona

Huzzah, we're now getting into the Sumeragi bosses! Dengeki Nintendo actually features two bosses per issue normally, but for the sake of organization, I'm only gonna be covering one at a time here.
If you wish to compare the translation below to the original JP text from the magazine, see here:

With that said, here's the fiery fury himself, Daytona!

Daytona's Profile
Former leader of the street gang “Maiden Blood” that placed the Kanto region under its influence.

When he was developing scruples over spending every day getting into brawls, he was scouted by Shiden.

At first he refused the invitation, but once he heard a song of Sumeragi’s Virtual Idol Morpho, he was attracted to her and joined Sumeragi’s Security Unit.

Since he’s impulsive and easy to use, Shiden often tricks him into doing jobs for him.
Explosion (Explosion):
Daytona’s 7th Wave (Sevens) that controls heat energy.

Before his transformation, Daytona could only create mere heat-balls with his ability, but once he gained the support of a Sword, he was able to compress huge amounts of thermal energy into spheres called "Angry Bombs" that could explode on impact. He can perform a kick attack called "Unicorn Drop" by engulfing his body with flames, which are made by igniting the air around his feet. By changing the air’s heat, he can control its flow and create a small air platform.
By kicking this platform, he can use moves such as “Final Assault” that change his airborne movements.
“Fire God”

Daytona’s Sword. The male god Izanagi used this to defeat the Fire God Kagutsuchi, hence where it got its name. Also known as “Ame no oohabari”.

  2. No, he isn't. If you hear to the drama track "Smoldering Flame" of the Justice Rage CD then you hear a girl commenting "that criminal who attacked some shopping center ALSO had it (the "Explosion" skill)".

And Daytona himself says "don't put me on the same league as that rascal because I'm a Psychic and I've got the same Sevens!".

So this track confirms it: Daytona and the shopping center attacker are two separate and unrelated guys.
