The Secret Icons in Azure Striker Gunvolt

Azure Striker Gunvolt is one of those games that appears to be very straightforward from the get-go, but in reality, houses a truckload of interesting secrets that, when found, can (or cannot) be of great assistance to you. I'll give you an example: Do you remember those hovering lights in the dark sections of Elise's stage? The ones that you can push with your electricity? At the beginning of the second part of that stage, you can push the first light backwards into a force barrier for an extra 1000 kudos! There's probably a ton of things like that in the game that players haven't even found yet, because they're so well-hidden. I'm about to cover a specific series of some of these secrets, though, that I like to call "icons".

Icons are little images in the game that normally can't be seen. In order to make them visible, you have to use the Mizuchi gun to hit the specific place where the icon is located five times. After you do this, they will appear, and, if you touch one, your kudos counter will set to 1000. This sounds good, but it's worth noting that it can also be a hindrance. If you had more than 1000 kudos at the time you touched an icon, your counter will go backwards. Any amount of kudos you had previously will revert to 1000, because the icon sets your counter to that number. As a result of this, these icons are intended more for inexperienced players who have trouble racking up that much kudos and, as such, don't get to hear the Lumen songs often.

Even if these icons aren't necessarily meant for experienced players, though, they're still very fun to find! There's one icon in each adept stage, like the gems that you give to Joule, and they're each based on characters from different things. Where are they? What do they look like? What are they from, exactly? Well, let's go and take a look!

-Viper's Stage-
"INSIDE-chan" from a game news site called "INSIDE":

-Elise's Stage-
Mascot of "Dengeki Online":

-Stratos' Stage-
Ekoro from Inti's "Gal*Gun" series:

-Merak's Stage-
Mascot of the gaming news site "Game*Spark":

-Jota's Stage-
You all should recognize this one: Comcept's mascot piggy!

-Carrera's Stage-
(Second?) Mascot of "Dengeki Online":

-Zonda's/Copen's Stage-
Logo of "Corporation Inti Creates":

Pretty cool, huh? Things like this really make me wonder how many other cool secrets are in this game!
Anyway, I hope you found this post interesting! Now go find these icons yourself and see what they can do!

  1. I tried getting a few of these but they would never show up. I even tried shooting at different distances where the icon roughly is. Is there some special catch to getting them?

  2. I think these are only available in the Japanese version. I haven't found indication that anyone playing the English version has found these icons.

    1. They're in the English version. I've gotten them myself. Like the post says, you have to put 5 Mizuchi bullets into the place where the icons are located.

  3. This is very interesting! Has anyone found the "secret" in every stage yet? The help button says that there's one in every stage. But I've only figured out the secrets in 1st Sumeragi & Eridu. I wish I could find the other secrets in the game. I try looking them up to see if anyone has figured them out but to no avail^^"
